International consumer brand under fire after allegations of child labor

An international consumer brand faced allegations of child labor in its rapidly growing supply chain. The claims turned out to be partially justified. The brand immediately invested in controls and worked with NGOs to improve the chain. We traveled to the region in Pakistan where the problems had arisen and documented on site how production monitoring had since been improved. At the same time, we pursued a transparent corporate and public affairs strategy toward the media, NGOs, and other stakeholders, making it clear how the brand had managed to bring production conditions into line on a structural basis.

Threat of reputational damage if Dutch manufacturing company relocates production

A leading Dutch manufacturer relocated the production of core products abroad. The goal: to safeguard its image as a Dutch company, remain attractive as an employer, and maintain customer confidence. Narrative Partners led the communications surrounding this sensitive reorganization. We developed a clear strategy focused on internal and external stakeholders, including the listed parent company, the company's employees and customers, and key media outlets. The result: the company's reputation remained intact, the brand remained credible, and the employer brand remained strong, while the transition was completed without any significant damage to the company's image.

Communicating accurate information about the use of cosmetics (cosmetics industry)

When TikTok, Instagram, and a consumer program questioned the safety of a popular cosmetic product, the market leader found itself in a media storm. The facts provided about the product (which was demonstrably safe) were ignored. That's why we created our own channels to get reliable information directly to consumers and serious press outlets. Through a targeted social media campaign and a podcast series with an independent specialist, we clearly highlighted the scientific evidence, restored confidence, and emphasized correct, safe use.

Protecting the reputation of a well-known entrepreneur

A Dutch publication wanted to unjustly link an investor to legal issues at a foreign portfolio company. We immediately formed an international team with specialists from the client, lawyers, and PR specialists to monitor the case, clarify his legal position, and have the facts at the ready. This enabled us to immediately provide journalists with a substantiated response to incorrect suggestions. At the same time, we opted for a tightly timed media strategy: one influential medium was given exclusive access to the correct context and interpretation. The result: fact-based reporting and an unblemished reputation for our client.

Strategic change of course explained in a management book

An international service provider launched a strategic course that the market found illogical and for which, according to critics, the company lacked the capabilities. Instead of a traditional campaign, we wrote a management book together with a leading consultant from the company in question. The company name was only mentioned in the author's bio, but the book covered all elements of the new strategy and illustrated them with its own cases. A targeted campaign led readers via QR links to online case descriptions where the company was recognizable. The result: more than 80,000 copies sold, translations into multiple languages, and an anchored change of course.

Media training and preventing reputational damage activist

When a prominent Dutch activist was summoned by the Public Prosecution Service to publicly distance himself from controversial statements, he called in Narrative Partners. Together, we defined clear core messages that both reflected his beliefs and addressed the legal requirements. In multiple media sessions, we trained him on tone, timing, and framing so that he could remain convincing, passionate, and credible during every interview. Thanks to this approach, he was able to create clarity, show responsibility, and at the same time strengthen his reputation among his supporters and opinion makers.

Crisis communication after fraud

After the CFO discovered large-scale fraud, there was considerable unrest among customers and suppliers of a medium-sized Dutch company. Rumors of bankruptcy had to be quickly refuted. Together with the lawyer, we developed a communication strategy within 48 hours that did justice to the sensitivity of the situation: after all, there was also a criminal investigation underway. We informed employees, wrote protocols and standard responses, and personally called strategic customers. The media were given a single point of contact; all communications were coordinated with the Public Prosecutor's Office and lawyers. After targeted media training for the CEO, we issued a press release explaining that the company had been affected but was financially sound. 

Shaping perceptions

There are many opinions about the sustainability of FMCG packaging. However, these are not always based on facts, but on interests. An industry organization called on us to reverse the narrative for a certain type of packaging. Through a broad campaign with advertisements, advertorials, a targeted LinkedIn campaign, our own podcast series, background discussions with journalists, targeted press outreach, and fact-based briefings to stakeholders, we presented the facts and repositioned the packaging as a future-proof, sustainable choice.
